I just wanted to highlight a few updates to Monty's Birthday Bash:

Verb Functionality

After seeing a lot of players get extremely confused about what needed to be examined or taken, I decided to write some code to make the cursor automatically choose the appropriate verb. The only time this doesn't quite work is if you're attempting to use an inventory item on an object or character,  since using an inventory object is a major part of the functionality.

Attic Puzzle


I created a puzzle that is designed to kill you the first time you play it. The player sees a box cutter and is supposed to use it to open up all of the boxes. When you use the box cutters on the box that has the saw in it, a demon pops out and saws your head, "killing" the player. 

The player then restarts with the box cutter. The player may try to use the box cutter again and eventually find the dynamite first, but either way, the player is supposed to realize that they can grab the torch and burn down the boxes. However, burning the box with the dynamite will blow the player up, once again killing the player.

The strategy is to use the box cutter until you find the dynamite, then switch to the torch (or vice versa).

Door Smash

The last major change I added is blocking off access to the kitchen with boards. After taking the intestines from the human body, the "legs" will run through the boards, smashing them open, and opening access to the kitchen for the player.
